"Slaughter in Soweto" by Michael Windsor
Bokanmeldelse av "Slaughter in Soweto". Boka handler om krig, fattigdom og klasseskille i byen Soweto.
The title of the book is ?Slaughter in Soweto? and the writer is Michael Windsor. The book/ sew has forty pages and it`s very exciting.
The book is about two brothers who live in Soweto. Soweto is a name of a town in South Africa which is a enormous ghetto for black people like themselves. The names of the two brothers are Marcus and John. They went together to the same school when they where fourteen years old. It was a school for black children only. The classes were big , sometimes thirty or forty children. It was hard to learn and concentrate. There were not enough books and the classrooms were very old and small. Marcus and John liked to learn, but they didn?t like their school. John was sorry for his best friend Sara who was killed by soldiers and he was fed up school. So Marcus said to him: ?We have to work hard John. We have to get good exam results, and a good job?, But John just said that the good jobs are for the whites.
I think the book is about racism, poverty, war and injustice. Michael Windsor tries to describe these things in his book ?Slaughter in Soweto?. I think he has done it well, because he writes a story which is true and pathetic, but at the same time exciting.
I think the book is easy to understand because he tells us in a way which is very easy to understand with very easy words and the sentences have structure I never seen before.
I recommend the book at my strongest to people in a age of ten too twenty, because It`s exciting for that target group. If I would give the book a character, I would give a Clearly 6.
